I have a 1986 ford bronco II, 2.9 ltr 4x4. Ive replaced both fuelpumps, filters, gas cap, evp, map, ego, tp, egr, spark plugs, cap, rotor. The truck, at idle, runs erratically still? The engine also lopes and blows out a black stuff out of the tail pipes. Any new ideas that might help me fix this problem. Thanks
There are only three things that come to mind right off that I would look at: 1) Have you checked how much vacum it's pulling while trying to idle? 2) Injectors themselves? I have seen it, a lOOOng time ago. 3) Actual ECM? Has this vehicle ever been in a flood or anything?
Not to sound all ending but some things do get overlooked, and you sound as though you have changed everything else. Find an ECM in a salvage yard and try it instead of money on new. Maybe even a set of injectors used. Some scopes can see spray patterns and mapping which may point to culprit. If I had not thrown out wiring and ECM when I converted to V-8 on wifes 89' I would send it to you. HTH
