Accel point eliminator problem?

I installed the accel point eliminator on my 72 f250 390 and now it won't start. The engine cranks but doesn't turnover. Any ideas of what could be wrong? Thanks

I've got the exact same problem. Have you checked your spark? I had No spark then I connected the brown wire to a better ground and finally got a spark. There is also a way to test the module itself. Remove the cap and rotor. Then use a volt meter to check voltage on the neg side of the coil with the ignition on. You should get batt voltage (12v). Then You take a credit card or something similar and block the lense. The voltage should drop to 1 or 2 volts. If everything is like I said your module is good. Good luck. Lots of people prefer the pertronix kit over accel. Wish I knew that before I bought the accel kit.

Start at the basics- Do you have the correct voltage at the module (the factory supplies about 6-7v to the coil via a resistance wire, does the module need that or 12v?), firing order, and timing.

If you got spark at the plugs, do you have gas at the carb?

You appear to have a bad ground.

Ok may not be your problem but when I put pretronix in my truck it would start and quit right away. Checked voltage at coil good, spark plug good turned engine over won't start. Turned out to be a bad pigtail at the ignition switch. Loose connection that came loose when I turned the key on, just happened to show itself when I put in pertronix. The loose wirer happen to be the pink resistor that went to the coil. Maybe the pink resistor wirer has something to do with it, have you tried a non resisted wirer?

If you have spark and gas I'm thinking the spark must not be in time. Not sure how accel hooks up but is it possible the module is not installed correctly, air gap on module incorrect? Is possible to look inside dist. make sure evrything is line up at number one?

Did you actually pull a plug and make sure you have spark?
if you don't have spark at the plug.....then we can work back from there

Does that have a cranking circuit like the Ford DSII system? If it does, you will need to use it. I fought with my FE for a few hours over this, when I swapped to the DSII system. Out in the open, there was plenty of spark, but while cranking there wasn't enough to actually ignite anything. It wouldn't even activate the timing light. Went over everything twice, then hooked up the start circuit. It lit right off inside about half a revolution.
