those are all cool, really love the grill, but I'm partial to the 60's trucks.
That grill would look good oversized to fill up the outline of the state.
You have done a lot of work on this Jim, & I hate to say it but I think
you need to use a different program that will allow you to do more
Okay, decided to crop off the southern part of the state, and enlarge the Northern part. Maybe this will help.
And here is the one I like. The top one just has too much black in that HD picture, so I put the 93 back in. Also made the NorCal Chapter words longer, to draw attention to it better.
Also, it would be cool if the Northern Cal truck was a 4x4 highboy with some healthy shoes on the ground. Kind of indicative of the off-pavement nature of Northern Cal, in contrast to the classic pavement cruisers style, typical of most of SoCal...
My truck is what you're thinking of? Though I'm assuming you'd want to see just line work and not full color, as would I. However, I don't know if having a picture of a truck in it is the right way to go.
If it weren't already past midnight I'd spend some time working on a decal. Tomorrow I'll try and remember to work up a version. I can take Nighteyez's ideas and run with them, as long as he's not offended. I do a bit of graphic design and have tons of photoshop and illustrator hours under my belt so maybe I can help the original idea become a little more polished. As long as I'm not stepping on any toes by doing so...
Jim's a pretty darned gracious dude. I'm confident that he'd welcome your assistance without any resentment. I'm really liking the way its turning out.
I do think that if two truck drawings are used in the decal, that they should be of the same art style. The graphic I contributed isn't a good fit at all. The blue and white ones are a better match but IMO still a slightly different style. Much closer than putting in the black one I sent...
Getting there and looking good guys.
The reason for the two different trucks is to show that this is a Ford truck club of all styles, and years, not just early trucks, or late trucks. The only reason the 93 is in color and the 53 is line art is because I have not been able to find a line art drawing of any late model trucks except for a side view of an HD in a Ford brochure.
As for stepping on my toes, no worries there. I welcome all ideas and would be happy to see something from someone else. After all, this is a Northern California chapter, not a Nighteyez chapter, and besides, I was starting to get tired of my designs. If you have read this thread from the very beginning, you know it started out as night time shot of the Golden Gate Bridge, (still my favorite BTW) and has evolved into what you see now. And from the very beginning I informed everyone I am not an artist, graphic or otherwise, I used to be a desktop publisher, which explains why I basically get pics from the Internet, and just move them around into a sort of pleasing finished product.
I agree. In any case, I am done with it. If Shameless comes up with something better, than we can go with that one. However, as far as mine goes, no more revisions.
Jim, I don't think Shameless is coming up with a different design, just thinking about adding to yours. Your logo is really looking great. I like it a lot. I can understand your getting tired of messing with it. It's a tough thing to try to please everybody when you're the guy doing the work, LOL. Trust me, I've been there. Thanks for all the good work.
