Hello, having some electrical problems.

I've searched the forums and I can't find anything that matches my problem. I just bought a 77 F150 4x4 and have absolutely no lights anywhere. The previous owner said they all worked until he tried putting in a new ignition switch. After that, no lights and the ignition would not work. He bypassed everything and now has a push button switch to start it. All the fuses are fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

Put the correct switch back in it, unless your good at wiring. More than likely, you have no hot going to the headlight switch.

Does anything electrical work at all? What do you mean the ignition does not work - the motor cranks but you have no spark? Please be more specific. Welcome to FTE.

All the guages work, just no lights (headlights, taillights or brake lights) or power to the heater blower and radio. The po just hooked up a toggle switch to the solonoid to start it. Runs great, just no lights. I ordered a new light switch and ingnition switch, maybe one of those is burned out? Thanks for the responses.

That's certainly possible - but it's a little tough to troubleshoot over the internet if a previous owner has hacked up the wiring. Here's a link to some wiring diagrams so that you can trace things out:

I don't think he hacked anything, everything looks original except the wires he ran to the solonois from the new push switch. Thanks for the schematics.
