Blower motor problems

Hey guys, I'm having some problems with my heater in my truck. It will work great and blow out air for a while. But then like this morning I went to start the truck to let it warm up, the heater was blowing out air so I turned it up all the way and it just went dead. It has done this a couple of times, but usually it just won't work when I start the truck and then after driving it will come on at some point.

Any ideas? Could it need a new blower motor or relay? I checked the grounds on it and they seem to be good. I also checked some connections and they seemed good as well. It acts like it suddenly looses power.

Thanks.

Sounds like a bad power connection. When it stops working wiggle the connector on the motor and see if it runs.

I've tried that, I messed with a bunch of connections today since it is not working right now. Nothing seems to work.

I checked the blower motor resistor and it looked okay, but I've heard that it can still be bad even if it looks good. I was going to buy one, but no one makes them now. How can I get a hold of one? Junkyard?

There is zero electrical work you can do without a multimeter. Saying something "looks" good means nothing in terms of the circuit's actual function. Pick up a cheap multimeter, or at the very least a test light - and as a first step, make sure you have power on both sides of the fuse. Until then, you're chasing your tail.

You're right about that. I'm scared of electrical stuff because I don't know much about it. But I guess it's time to learn. I'm going to go get a multimeter.

for the blower motor is it an ac truck or none ac truck might try the switch itself. as stated above get a voltmeter or a test light or both for that matter save money in the long run not throwing parts at it.
