hey fellas, Ive been reading at this site for a while and ya'll have tons of great information and feed back and in all I'd say this is a great place to wall crawl if you own a ford. props to all of you !

Ohio diesel 08' 450 4 door 4x4, BP fuel only, stock 125,700miles, mild pulling 15% of time, highway the rest.

It exhaust cleans every 350 miles or so (normal), and after the last clean it continued smoking for roughly 50-60 miles then went into power safe mode. Then after another 30 miles limping home at 40 mph it got the shakes like the timing on a car was way out of wack. Im thinking the computer is sending screwed up fuel signals like the previous 2 time while under warr. Oil level was good. Dealership said one cylinder is 40%. im thinking an injector stuck open and had a camp fire? He checked and no extended warr on it. For everyne that knows they are pulling the cab to pull the heads off. any 2 cents?

HPFP went south is my guess. Sending metal to the injectors.

When was the last fuel stop and filter changes?

 

Its at a half tank from topped off and fuel filter was @8:17 102,000 miles. I had ALL liquids and filter changed at 50k and 102k AT ford.

 

So over 23K on fuel filters?

Every drain the fuel/water separator?

 

Yes and there was no drain from the factory until 102,000 miles

 

lack of maintance imho..suprised you managed that many miles. Very fortunate.
