I got at my column mods today; resulting in 33" total length from d-shaft to threads. The length from floor to thread end is now 27.5". I also welded mounting brackets for signal light assembly. This is the hybrid shaft I made using D-shaft to mate with donor while retaining the original steering wheel.
I'll post pics in my gallery once I receive my camera driver, so I can download to my PC.
Got a bunch of wiring to complete before I can re-install the column but getting close; so hopefully may have truck on road this summer.
I'd like to see the mods.
Wow, this summer huh? Good for you. Hopefully you will have time to work on it and not get bogged down with household chores (I'm buried with them right now)
I feel your pain Bobby; I'm in the middle of the basement reno; putting down 800 Sq Ft of flooring, new bathroom etc.
I'm real close on the target for this summer. I plan on getting it ready for inspection this year. Lots of little things to tweak but should pass inspection once I get steering and wiring done.
I have to completely redo the main bathroom and retile the master bath. I was hoping to get started last week but I have a good friend who need some help with her house that will fill up the rest of Febraury. So maybe March for my stuff....someday my time will be my own
Got the column back together today; finished painting it.
Some pics in my gallery under : steering. I needed to add some length to it , so used galvanized electrical conduit to get desired length. I've added the Blundell after market horm kit to it.
Now comes install into cab and final wiring for turn signals , etc.
