i just replaced my ball joints, tie rod ends, had the truck aligned and had the tires balanced. my front end is TIGHT. however, i seem to have a mild shake coming from the back of my truck. it starts at around 60 mph and gets worse until about 75-80 mph and then it seems to go away. my u joints are fairly new (replaced them about 20k miles ago) and dont have any play. could u joints cause a shake even if they dont have play? also, i have a broken leaf spring and the truck sags pretty bad to the drivers side. could that cause a shake? truck in sig
I know you said you had the tires balanced but it still sounds like a tire problem, the speeds are the give away. Could one of the rear tires have a bad belt or be out of round? Remember you can balance a square, but it won't roll worth a darn...
Or maybe the shop messed up on the balance job!!!
As for the u-joints they would cause a vibration at a lower speed than tires.

right now i have 32 inch bfg at's on the truck for the winter. i have them mounted on a set of off set wheels that prevent the tires from rubbing. anyway, those are totally seperate from my stock wheel and tire set which i have sitting in my shed. i should swap everything and see if i still get a shake. its not really possible to tell if a tire has a bad belt is it? these tires never gave me a problem.
