Hey everybody, I'm Jason. I just bought my first old Ford 4x4, which is a '77 Highboy. I'm no stranger to Ford, having built 4 Mustangs ( 77, 85, 94, & 03 ), owned an '86 F-250 4x4 with a 460, and a built '99 4x4 Powerstroke. The Highboy has a 400 with an automatic, minimal rust, some new parts, and best of all, pretty cheap. It will be getting a new paint job and lift. I'm sure I'll have questions along the way, so thanks in advance!
To join everyone else, welcome we're glad you are here.
I think there is no such thing as a highboy with a 400 however. Highboys stopped being produced in the first half of 77 and the 400 starting getting installed in the second half of the 77 model year some time in Feb I think. If indeed you do have a 400 in a highboy it might be quite rare. Hopefully NumberDummy will read this and provide the definitive answer.
Anyway great to have you aboard. Can't wait to see some pics when you can.
