New here... howdy from il.
Hello,
new to site and wanted to intoduce myself. Have not owned a ford truck for about ten years (past truck was a 79 f 250 king cab 4x2 custom with a 460) but have aquired a " new truck " a 79 f 250 4x4 ranger xlt w/ 351m or 400, not sure just yet. will probably be asking some questions later on but just wanted to say hay.!

ok here is an update on what I've found out so far... vin shows it to have a 400 motor in it, front diff. is dana 44 with casting # 44 9f any help on the 9f meaning would be great!
rear diff. is dana 60. prety sure this is oe but would like feedback on this ...was this common setup ie...d44 frount and d60 rear? also what gearing does this have? more to come...
