I need to get a long block for my 95 f250. The heads are trashed. Can't find heads at a reasonable price and the motor has 103k on it and really don't want to waste my time by having more issues anyway. Anybody have any suggestions besides Jasper? Need to get this truck on the road...
Your gonna spend a pretty penny for a long block pretty much anywere you go, I'd look at a junk yard for a set of heads that can be used/rebuilt if your in a hury.
craigslist maybe put a want to buy ad or look to see if someone is parting one out if not check the jys. maybe a scrap dealer has one before they crush a truck they would sell.
I just ordered from Promar. $2100.00. I'm now at the braking point of what the trucks going to worth with the money i've spent. But it still a alot less than the 40K 250 I test drove a few months ago.
No core charge. But if you don't give them one they nix the warranty. They put more new parts in then anyone else I've seen for the money. It should work out good. I hope they are quick with the ship. They are in Jersey not too far from Mass.
Very happy with their service and I have not had any problems with it.
Glad to hear that you used them, they are state of the art on rebuilds. They really pay attention to the details of preparation, cleanliness, and going by the blueprint, along with options on components of your choice if you wish.

Have you used them too, or do you know of them in some other way?

They were voted one of New Jersey's top companies. A few years ago I was thinking of sending to them a spare dive block that I have, along with a set of c9ve-a heads. Very nice people over the phone, I wanted them to rebuild the lot...still might, but going from fi to carb does not seem to be popular here...people here kind of talked me out of it, what do you think?
I don't know where you are. It's not filled out in your profile...
If you lose the computer you're going to need another ignition system.
The DuraSpark 2 ignition system (distributor, coil, ignition module, harness) from a truck like mine is probably the simplest reliable thing going.
No points to clean and check.
It was in millions and millions of Ford vehicles from the late '70's until the last of the carbureted trucks in 1987.
