Stage 8 spindle locknut, or new spindle?

My lock washer keeps spinning on the spindle, the locknut spins with it and my wheel bearings loosen.. thought it was the lock washer so I replaced it and it's still happening, I think it spun on me and grooved my spindle bad enough that it wont lock into place now. The nuts still thread on

should I buy a replacement spindle or do you guys think one of these will work? Stage 8 X-LOCK Dana 44,30 Locking Spindle Nut Assembly

I've never had a problem with my driver's side, just the passenger side, so I know it's a shot spindle but i'd go crazy if I got a new one and it loosened again on me.

Screw it, just bought a pair of the locknuts. Worst case scenario, they back off and I get my money back because of the guarantee. I do think they will work, the washer that locks in the keyway looks like 4 times thicker than the stock one, I don't see how it could spin. My keyway is just slightly rounded on the passenger side, but it's just enough that the washer slips over. It's hardened like crazy, but of course the spindle isn't!

You think Spicer would have built these dang washers a bit tighter. I thought the new ones would be, but even on my healthy driver's side spindle there is a bit of play for the washer over the spindle, was terrified I was going to spin the washer when tightening the outter nut after the trouble I had with the passenger side.

anyways, I'll let you guys know how those locknuts are, should have them by Tuesday.

Spindle, Dana 44 ½ Ton

this is the spindle. The keyway is that little groove in the spindle that stops the lockwasher from spinning. The lock washer fits sort of loose, the spindle isn't hardened , the lock washer is, and my spindle has worn to the point that the lock washer and inner nut spins when I try to torque the outter nut to a heavy amount..
if I don't torque it, the outter nut loosens and the inner nut loosens, which causes my bearings to go loose. if I tighten it more, it spins the lockwasher and the inner nut causing my bearing to tighten too much.

I should be getting the new lock Tuesday, I'm really excited about trying it out. In the meantime I'm going to put some threadlock on the outter nut and tighten it to about 90 ft lbs and hope it stays on until Tuesday

so what portion does the lockwasher go on? I see kind of where the spindle goes on the axle but i have never seen this stuff taken apart. My experience is watching techs pull hubs off and pulling the whole axle shaft out with something like this on the end where the lug studs go.

the end is threaded.. it's different for different years and hub styles, but for mine (and most D44 fronts) you have one nut that threads over the end that has a pin sticking out, a washer with holes in it, it's notched and fits in the keyway with the pin going through the hole, then another locknut at the end.
