1999 5.4 Liter 4x4

hey guys i got a 1999 F150 4x4 5.4 liter truck.. I know absoultely nothing about the 5.4 and what problems to watch out for. The truck runs good and has been very dependable for my parents before i got it from them and it is being dependable for me. so if you guys could tell me is the 5.4 a good engine and what are some ways to make it run better and last longer.
thanks!

Regular oil changes and don't let it run hot.

Spark-plug blow-out

Do a search on these forums, for the spark plug "blow-out" issue, and the design around the 2V 5.4 Triton engine.

I believe your truck would fall in this category, being a 1999 (mine is a 2000, and I fall in here too).

This is not the 2-piece spark plug "breakage" issue, that you may come across either...that is for later years of the truck, with the 3V Triton.
