as the frames are all alike in the front [2wd] s/b no problems in my 78 f250 with the 502 stroker i had to chain the drivers side [1 on the bell houseing 1 on the front head] as the tork from this motor will rip the motor mounts apart done it once on me i all most had an out line of my air cleaner in the hood other than that no problems
my engine will brake the tires free in 2ng gear at 20mph a buddy of mine wanted to try me out with his new ram/hemi pickup beat him so bad he woudnt talk to me for a week [he hates fords] so that was even sweeter
You won't have to worry too much with the frame. The front may sag a bit more from the added weight in which you could upgrade the front coils. 521 in a Shortbox would be awesome.
As far as the sag in the front, I am counting on it. I have drop beams in the front and the extra weight sould just put the final touch on it.
I am going to run some type of traction device in the back but I'm not sure what. Any advice there? I am going to put in a locker to aid in the launch.
Clean and inspect the frame around the steering gear mounting bolts. If no signs of cracks are found, you should be good to go. These frames can tend to crack at this location due to stress from power steering and/or wide tires. That is the only "weak link" I am aware of, and it's fairly rare.
