Ok back in Decemeber I think it was a went to check the oil while getting gas in the truck. Well I couldnt get the dipstick out. I climbed under the hood and tried to pull it out. Wouldnt not budge. I finally started to twist it back and forth. Thought it was going to break but I got it out. The oil showed low so I put some in and a few days later I just changed it out with fresh AmsOil. Well I dont drive my truck very often cause I got a car to drive to work. Today I went to check the oil and noticed the dipstick was never pushed down all the way even though it felt like it.
I checked the oil and there was minimal oil on the dipstick. Probably cause it wasnt pushed down all the way. It cant be low cause I bet I didnt put 1000 miles or so on it since the last oil change and its not leaking. Cant see it buring that much since my old little saturn dont burn that much. What cause the dipstick to be nearly impossible to pull it out and impossible to get it to go all the way down? Do I need to buy a new dipstick and tube? Thanks guys need opinions.
I had a similar problem and found the end of the dipstick tube had corroded and the o-ring on the dipstick wouldn't slide over it. I cleaned up the end of the dipstick tube, put a little lithium grease on the o-ring and it slipped right in.
