wind wing vent windows.
My 2cent on the win-wing vents. What a pain in the *** those are to do. And for all your effort the damn things still leak water and don't fit as good as the old dried out hard one's and almost leak as bad as the old ones. They have to be glued back in place with a 3m rubber cement. The old ones are riveted in at the window guide bar and have to be drilled out to remove them. There's no way to put rivets back in them with out having a special jig setup. If you have the Dennis Carpenter parts catalog it shows how to replace them in the back pages. I even put on new wing lever locks and the little plastic rubbing blocks and still leaked. I was not impressed with the way the seals fit for the cost. They fit worse then the old dried out ones only softer.. Got them from DC too...
owell that life for having a classic vehicle.

Vent not sure some call the win wing the vent. or the cab foot vents.
But here's my 2cent on the win-wing vents . What a pain in the *** those are to do. And for all your effort the damn things leak water almost as bad as the old ones. They have to be glued back in place with a 3m rubber cement. The ome ones are riveted in place and drilled out. Theirs no way to put rivets back in.

Don't have this catalog? Call 800-476-9653, and order one...it's free.

I have been in the rubber automotive seal business for 30+ years, and recently had a fun job near Dennis C that made similar parts, mainly for GM antiques. Those parts are reverse engineered from actual old rubber by skilled machinist/artists who make the molds by hand, layer by layer. Since most of the original geometry is unavailable, old examples are the best they can work with. If the original sample is flawed or distorted, sometimes the new product ends up that way. Call DC and let them know they have a problem. Our place would jump quickly, hope DC would as well.
