I had my intake manifold powder coated because the open porous aluminum looks bad after time. There was prep for the surface (polishing) but the end result is an intake that still looks new fter 5 years. As it's been said throughout the thread, good prep and a coater who knows his work are important, The same qualities you would look for in a paint shop.

A shop not far from me used to do powder coating for heavy equipment, when the industry shut-down he opened his doors to the public, Big oven and lots of experiance, not sure why the significant other is not as excited about as I am

Do you have a pic of your intake? I'd like to see that. I know what you mean by aluminum not looking to good after a awhile.

A shot of the intake, although the rest of the motor is a mess. This was during last springs rebuild.

You just sold a clear coating for my local coater. I'm sure he thanks you.

The Edelbrock endurashine polished intakes and heads are just polished Aluminum that have been clear coated. It really makes for a durable finish, that looks great for years.
