1997 expedition- Guage lights have gone out. I have no idea how to replace. Anybody have any info to help me? Also, my dome light doesnt come one when I open the doors but I can use the switch on it and it works fine. I have no idea where to start. Electrical is not my strong point. Please help

Is the dash lights dimmer switch perhaps turned all the way down?

 

Nope, already checked that. The only part of the guages that has light is at the top of the speedo. I can not even tell how much gas I have.

 

In that case I suggest you get the service manuals and the wiring diagrams book to help you trace out and diagnose the problem.
