The 6.0L injectors are prone to oil latching anyway, so going 10k mile intervals w/ 15w40 is too much IMO. 10k is the max IMO for fuel filters. I will second the recommendation on OEM fuel filters ONLY.
What frequency do you drain the water from the plug?

No start (electrical) fired w/ether - new question
I got the truck to fire with ether.
I ran it for about 25 minutes, then shut it off.
I tried to restart it and it had to crank for about 7 seconds, then slowly cranked over.
I ran it for 5 to 7 minutes, then shut it off.
I tried to restart it and NO START.
It will take 2-3 days for the scanguage to get here.
Any new thoughts on what to test or check, still no codes.

Sounds like a HPO problem to me
05+ has a few issues with the HPO system
being STC Fitting cracking, standpipes, and or dummey plugs leaking
Need to monitor ICP & IPR%
you could backprobe the ICP sensor with a DVM while someone cranks the truck over and see what you get at minimum you need .82 volt to start
Have you unplugged the ICP sensor and tried to start?????

Can you tell me where to locate the icp sensor? I will try that tomorrow morning.
To clear something up, I do use oem filters. What is too much IMO?
What oil should I use then 5/40 rotella?
Sorry for the double post, and thanks again for everything.

Bismic, I do not drain the water unless the light goes on, and it has not in quite a while. But when I changed the filters the other day, it did not have any water in it.

If no ficm light, I drain about 1/2 pint every oil change which I do every 5,000 miles or 6 months which ever comes first. Read the owners manual if you have one. Incidentally I use synthetic 5W40 and still change at stated intervals. Cheap ins. Injectors are expensive and the labor is even higher.

That's what it sounds like to me 2.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE throw the ether can away before you bust your piston lands, rings, or lift the heads completely off the truck. That crap is BAD for a glowplug motor.
