I hooked up my AutoEnginuity last night, but it won't connect. If I plug in the connector to the OBD2 port without USB plugged in, it lights up so I'm sure i have power there.
The AE says it detects the prolink connector, but can't communicate with the truck.
I used the AE the night before on a 6.0 my brother was looking at, so it was working then.
Protocol is different between 6.0 and OBS. IIRC you have to set up AE for non OBD2 protocol but don't know for sure as I don't have one nor instructions.
Open up scan tool, go to vehicle, communication settings or connections (not sure exact wording), the under protocol select like j1850pwm or something to that effect, then under that select non obd2 compliant. Restart the software and then plug it in and it should work. If you don't have total enhanced ford bundle it wont work.
I have to monkey with my 96 plugging it in different ways to get a connect but eventually it will ..try plugging in laptop last.. restart ae after plugged in
