Question sending unit access panel?

I have read through tge 1st hundred pages of threads here after purchasing my 250,000 mile high 96 bronco i have in the past week replaced the rear leaf hangers, shackles and bushings, next weekend im doing coil springs and 4 shocks... NOW TO THE MAIN REASON FOR THIS POST I HAVE READ ABOUT AN ACCESS PANELIN THE FLOOR IVER THE FUELSENDING UNIT TO AVOID THE HEADACHES AND HASSLES OF REMOVING TANK TO GET MY FUEL GAUGE WORKING AGAIN. I NEED A LINK TO THAT THREAD OR PHOTOS IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME OUT THANK YOU.

It's pretty easy to do, but I recommend removing the tank before cutting the floor to avoid blowing up your Bronco. A 10"x10" access hole is about perfect for gaing access to the sending unit without weakening the floor. You'll need to get a piece of matching flooring from another bronco or f-series truck that is at least 1" wider all the way around to put back over the hole once your done. With the carpet in the cargo area roled back, you will notice two rubber plugs in the floor. From these plugs back I believe I measured about 9" back for my first cut (top of the square). I used a pneumatic cutting wheel, which did a very clean job of it.

You gents are amazing! Great location and all luckily i have a drill bit that is a sheet metal "nipper" no sparks should ne able ro map that out and have done next weekend. Add 14x14 scrap ford bed panel to my list if junk yard parts.. hope to post some pics soon. After im done the interiors is getting the spray in bedliner treatment before some stereo and new carpet/vinyl havent decided yet know im gonna be topless and doorless OFTEN
