But I was wondering if a motor and trans from a 79' bronco would fit into an 88' bronco, and if not how much work/fabrication would be needed?
A lot of work. But again why????
And depending on where you live if it's street driven it will never ever pass emmisions again. I have a 89' Bronco II with a 75' 302 and automatic. But we have no emission inspections here. Still a pain to to get inspected. ( Ask me how I know this...)
I would not do it again. IMHO
Take a lesson from the small bronco market, original is usually worth alot more than heavily modified, keep it stock, keep it maintained per the schedule mantaince, fix things when they break, use it till you can't anymore, then sell it for alot.
Mainly just curious, I have a 79' bronco but the body is shot and I found a deal on an 88 on
44s with gears, lockers, lift.. the while 9 yrds but without a motor and trans. If it's that
much work I'll just start ordering from LMC truck and replacing all the rust with new sheet metal
