I sure one of you mechanical wiz bangs would do a write up with lots of pictures showing dis-assembly and reassembly of the TTB 44. That spring technique where you eliminate using the c clip, how do you learn about that or has someone done a write up? I want to swap in 3.55 front diff this summer and do all the other maintenance just a little hesitant to rip into it.

I learned about the "spring trick" on FSB, but when you install a locker or Trutrac LSD in a TTB, you can no longer use the C-clip to hold the stub shaft in. If you get in touch with the locker company or whoever you bought the locker from, they'll tell you the spring trick.
The TTB really isn't complicated to take apart and put back together. If you pay attention when you dig into it, it's easy to figure out. I'm sure there is a write up somewhere on it though.
I learned the spring trick back a long time ago when I was building tough trucks and doing a lot of jumping. We modified the d44 axle housing for more lift and to narrow it to put in our explorer and then the excessive travel needed the cclip to disappear.
The ranger station has a lot of info from 99-2000 era when I was doing a lot of building and playing with trucks.
