Fuel Gelling up?

Hey guys, had a problem with the truck last week and wanna talk it out to see if there are other things I should be looking at.

-28c last week, almost -40c with windchill.

Had just under half a tank of fuel and decided to fill the truck up, chose shell vmax which is supposed to have a winter additive.

So i'm driving home from work the next day 45kms one way and truck seems to be having a hard time keeping up highway speeds. The truck is starting to slow down as I give it some more pedel and the truck is not getting any better, first thing I start looking at gauges. Fuel(no blue spring yet)60 psi, 4 degree delta on oil and water temp, EGT is showing a steady RISE. In cold weather my EGT doesn't get over 700, now its over 1100 and the truck can no longer keep 80kms. I pull her over and dead right away.
I try cranking and its not gonna start, call the tow truck. Tow truck is busy. So I wait. Waited 5-8 minutes before trying again and she fires up, big cloud of smoke looks grey but its dark out. I put her on high idle and she cleans out running great, I get back under way. The truck did this 2 more times before getting home, once home she was running great in the driveway.

640ICP at idle, can't remember IPR right now.
Ford fuel filters have 15k on them.
Checked codes with my scangauge and it says not ready? So I used another scanner and its saying no codes, although might have a hard code or such?

Haven't driven her since, been busy. Only thing I can think of is a frozen secondary fuel filter and once the engine heat gets up to it, it thaws?
Anything i'm missing? I only mention the new fuel I put in it just in case it might have something to do with that? It really was too cold to pop the hood and check the fuel filter, but that is what I suspect.

Looking at getting a AE ford bundle to check my injectors, wheres the best deal?

Depending on if your HFCM has been changed or not, it might have a fuel heater in it. The secondary filter would have to be DAMN cold to freeze and sitting on the motor I just can't see that. With your EGT getting to 1100 it means you're getting plenty of fuel and/or not enough air. How's your EGR valve?

For the truck to slowly die out like that I really am stumped. And to quickly start up again 5 minutes later, then re-run the scenario 2 more times exactly.
Gonna go check it today, might be in for a Dealer to check it out.

Lack of power and increasing EGT's sounds like a turbo issue to me (since the EGR system is a non-issue).

What does the filter minder look like? Not sure if you've "ZooDad" your truck or not. If you have...maybe enough snow got sucked in that it starved the engine?

For the record, I don't trust anyone to treat my fuel to prevent gelling. I treat it with DK (white bottle) at every fill up. I use 12 oz for each fill-up; not quite double dosing...but it's more than DK recommends.

t temps that cold the fuel just probly jelled up in your neck of the woods always carry a bottle of 911 and use fuel additive. I hope they are not still injecting BIO-BLEND UP their.

Fuel pressure staying at 60 doesn't suggest gelling fuel. Increasing EGT's indicates something in airflow plugging up. I agree with checking the filter minder.

Thanks for the posts guys!!!!

I don't have a tuner or tunes on my truck

I have not checked the filter minder, will do that tomorrow.
I haven't done the zoodad yet.
I was also checking the boost gauge, also thinking about turbo. The boost was climbing the more pedal I needed to apply to keep up to 80kms even though I needed 110kms.
But as noted the truck sat for 5mins or so and it fired right up... no problem, until later on down the road.

Took the truck for a run to the store, let her warm up and off I went.
Took the truck through its paces, bagged on her quite a bit. No smoke, running like a top! Can't even feel it running at idle in or out of gear.

I'm now at a loss.....
