Im sorry for asking these silly questions. Im on my phone and its super tough to search for me..
Anyone know how to remove the dashpad? I found a few really good condition ones at a local yard and planned on cleaning them up and putting em on.
Also Im installing a aftermarket stereo in the glovebox. I am new to the truck and am not familiar with the wiring.. Has anyone found an easy accessory wire wire thats pretty easy to get to?
I just used the power for the original radio for the keyed power and for constant I run it from the starter solenoid. The original power is a green plug I think.
You pretty much have to remove the glove box, the radio (or at least loosen it so you can worm your hand in around it) and the instrument bezel. I'll get you a picture of a dash pad showing where the screws are shortly. I'm not near my truck at the moment.

There's a 12v switched source at a 3-way female bullet connector (i believe it's yellow) just behind your headlight/wiper switches that you can tap into for accessories.
That one is 12v+ switched, there is a 12v+ constant just like it behind the glovebox compartment, I don't know what you meant by wrong one. No dice from me on the dashpad removal, I don't have one. I do believe there are nuts on the backside?
Yes there are nuts on the underside of the dash pad.
Remember to get the one in the front - which goes through the vertical face of the dash in the little "dip or depression" the pad makes between the gauge bezel area and the glove box area.
No one has been behind my dash so everything is in tact and VERY HARD TO BREAK LOOSE. I quit on the attempt of getting the radio bolts out. I seriously took a hack saw to two screws.
Then realized all the HVAC stuff is all hooked up and quit.
Anyone successfully detatch all this stuff without breaking anything?
Someone needs to make a how to on removing dash stuff..
I swear... I have never lost my patience so much in anything...
