Ignition wire for accesories

I did a quick search and didnt see anything but... I want to put in a continuous solenoid and hook my siren, lights, and mobile radio up to it. Right now i have EVERYTHING hooked up directly to the battery and i am getting some interference with all the wires around the radio (and dead batteries when i forget to turn it all off at night) so i would like to eliminate them and make it so they come on with the key.

You can find a key on power in the AIC plug under the dash, it is a red wire with a yellow tracer.

Follow link for pic and info

Pic from DM's site:

There is also another key on power in the dash normally floating around the radio harness area, it is a blunt cut wire with some shrink on the end of it.

The smaller one, the big wire in the picture is the splice for key on power. To find this plug remove your lower dash cover. Reach up and locate the plug,it should be secured out of the way with a clip.Once the plug is free from the lower dash (gentle prying with a flat blade usually does it) you will have to remove some of the factory loom tape to expose enough of the wire to make a good splice.

I think a relay similar to the GPR would carry the power draw that you will be drawing. And here are the Power Distribution prints holp this helps.

Richard is correct, I should have been more clear, the wires I suggested are good for key on power for light duty use. Actuating a relay or powering illumination is the most draw I would put to them.

so with that wire would a continuous solenoid be ok to run off of it? The radio draws quite a bit but my lights are all LED's and not sure about the siren.

Yes you will be fine running JUST the solenoid off that wire just make shure you put a inline fuse in.
