Having problems posting pic again. I just got a new computer with Windows 7. I am a supporter but when I try to upload a pic, it fails. I read Bobby's how to and I'm doing it right. Anybody else having issues? I don't have a problem attaching pics to emails. Here goes...I'll post the thread even if the pic doesn't attach. The size is 2.4 MB JPEG image which I just noticed (duh) is too big to post. OK how do I change the size of the pic?
I have windows too and have no problems. I store pictures in my pictures album that came with mt pc. To get one on here i click on "Manage Attachments",it takes me to a place i can select the "my pictures " album. Click on the picture i want and hit send. If it's a picture i have taken with my cell phone it sends it right away. But the pictures i have been taking with my new camera are a better ,sharper picture and i guess more detail as they are lot slower to do. I don't change the size of them but they may move faster if i did. There are other ways and i have tried most of them ,but this works best for me. I'm sure others will help on this.
I don't know how to change the size, never could get the hang of it.
You can change the resolution size of the picture on your camera before you take the picture. You can also download a free image resizer tool for your operating system and use it to resize your pictures.
You can find an image resize program at this link: http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/releases/view/30247. I believe that Windows 7 is a 32-bit system, so you'll need to download the 32-bit resizer. After you've installed it, right click on the image and select "Resize pictures" and follow the prompts. Click on the link for instructions: http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/. I've been using this program at work and it performs flawlessly.
You might have an onboard program to take care of that. I'm using Vista on this laptop so it might be slightly different, but I can right click on a picture, select "open with" and move over to "Microsoft Office picture manager"
From the top tool bar click on "picture" and the drop down menu will have a selection for "resize". Go to the right margin and select "predefined widthxheight" and from that menu select "web - large (640x480)" When the picture changes go to FILE and SAVE AS to save your new picture with a new name.
Just installed the 64 bit version of the image resizer I posted above and it works good. I have a different image resize program that I was using, but this one is much simpler and easier to use.
Thanks everybody, I'm doing it by browsing to my pictures in my computer, then opening the file and hit upload on the manage attachements window. Long pause then upload failed. What if I change the format of the file from JPEG to something else?
Thanks for the links Ilya, I'll keep trying
Thanks for the help guys... gonna try one more time Wow I think I did it. My computer does have the resize program on the Windows Live Photo and it was easy enough....once you know how. Now if I could just remmeber how I did it!!!!! LOL

Okay, we've seen the teaser photo...now how about the real thing?
Hey Dean (Zoot),
I had similar issues uploading pics. You follow the process & do it right & "upload failed" - I'm also a member. I know this sounds stupid but what I found works is to hit the upload multiple times - don't let it sit there - just hit upload again. Mine never works on the first try but every time you follow up with another bang or two on the upload key - it works fine.
