Question What to do

Hi guys a brief history first. Lived out in western canada for 10 years and bought a new travel trailer which weighed out at 6600 dry and 10400 fully loaded,at the time was driving ford f150 xlt 4x4 with the 5.4 liter v8.Was told by dealer I would have no trouble towing it,of course later when it was to late I realized the difference. Put over 200000 kms on that truck and only major promblems I had was a blown spark plug and later low compression in number 3 cylinder which seemed to happen only while towing or shortly after such.Loved my truck but since then decided to get rid of her and am now in the market for something new, however here's the pickle i'm in.My job requires i travell approx 20000 highway kms per year and wife would like trailer towed back to newfoundland on the east coast of canada approx 6000 kms. When I descide to tow it back i will be taking my time and driving no more then 5 or 6 hours a day then resting.

Question should I buy a diesel which I have no clue about or maybe wait for a good deal on a lease return f150 with the ecoboost which seems to be getting great reviews.By the way once the trailer is back East it will be parked and not moved again. Any advice will be greatly appreciated as I am really confused.

I guess I'm lost. You are considering a diesel to tow a trailer one time and after that you will just be traveling a good numder of kms not towing or hauling anything? Unless you just like trucks, why not just buy something that gets good mileage? It seems to me you would be money ahead just hiring a transporter to do a "drag and drop" one time with your trailer. I may be on a different page here.

echo boost would serve you ok or a F250 with the 6.2 gas motor in it.

Although the F250 I think would be over kill.

Got it. Buy the f150. It makes more sense as a daily driver in terms of mileage, etc. I tend to think of the big boys when there is work to be done.

My two cents worth,

Steve
