Hey all just bought an 05 excursion with the v10. It has a few extras like a lift kit, cold air intake, and performance exhaust. The truck is in great shape but has some miles on it. Looking to upgrade my drivetrain components but dont know where to begin.
It has 149 k and some change on her. Im looking to upgrade the trany and front and rear axles. I would like to eventually convert it over to diesel but will probably be down the road unless i come across a sweet deal.
Shocks if they haven't been done yet, then just inspect the other suspension components for bad bushings and loose joints. Don't really have to worry about upgrading or beefing up any of the drivetrain stuff with these trucks, they can take allot.
Yamaha, how much lift, what size tires and what gears do you have? If you have larger tires and still have 3.73 gears a gear swap will make your trans a lot happier.
I have a keldermen air lift. So it can very from 8 to twelve inches. Im running 38 by 12.50's. The truck shifts like a champ but I do a lot of hunting in ohio and pennsylvania, so when im pulling my trailer with my fourwheeler and all my other stuff it just seems like it has to work a little going up hills.
