F10 = Model = F-100 2 wheel drive
E = Engine = 300 inline 6 cylinder
C = Plant of Manufacture = Ontario Truck
JJ7042 = Production Sequence Number *1980 year model.
*Production sequence numbers between GA0,001 and KE9,999 denote 1980.
1981 models were the first to use the 17 digit VIN numbers...
EDIT: Ranger80 beat me to it as I looked it up and typed it.
1980 was the first year for the E engine code denoting 300-6.
1979 Code B was for the 300-6.
1983 Code Y was for the 300-6.
Most online decoders do not decode 1980 VIN numbers properly as it was the last year for 11 digit VINs but first year for some codes, like E for the 300-6 as example.
