I have a 2005 Expedition Eddie Bauer in dash audiophile 6 cd/ fm/am radio. About a month ago my cd player started reading disc error, I removed and checked the fuses, after I put them back in the cd player read no cd and the radio worked fine at the time.
Today I had to replace the original battery and now my radio has no sound, it will come and the clock I can see the volume bars when I turn up the volume, but no sound. I did notice that the radio clock and light went dark and came back on twice. any suggestions?
If an aftermarket unit will fit in the dash, you might consider getting a unit with SD card capability and dump the disks. No moving parts, far more storage capacity, no lasers, and you can step up the capabilities of the unit to include a backup cam. It's just a thought.
It sounds like your unit may be done, but you might have a loose ground or the connector in back of the unit needs to be unplugged and re-inserted (if you're lucky).

Thanks for your replys. I found out when I installed my new battery the computer for the radio had to be reset. What I did was disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 minutes and reconnected it and the computer reset and the radio is working fine except for the problem I had for the cd player before the battery change.
