I agree and it why I do not normally post on the internet. You know something, share it and everyone thinks you don't know what you're talking about.
Testing proves everything, customer feedback confirms it. Call John wood and ask him if you choose not to believe just how horrible stock pmt factory tuning is on the trans. Get his opinion. We will keep helping customers who call us and tell them what we know from what has been tested. Does not mean bts makes a crappy trans, you first need to know that. I use pmt1 as a base just like many others do for other purposes Doesn't matter I can use any calibration in the same family, its a template and many things get changed.

There is SO MUCH FAIL in this thread. Misinformation abounds!
Yes, that is the first time and the last time you will ever "see" me utter anything dealing with "fail" in an internet forum.
...and some of us wonder why the entire Powerstroke community is confused.
Actually, I gave up on wondering long ago. "I read it on the internet so it MUST be true!"
Carry on.
I agree... I'm no tuner so I can't argue with the tuners about their jobs. I was told by the guys who do this every day that the PMT1 isn't good for a trans. Not only Jody himself said this, but John Wood told me this as well so no "read this" or "heard that" here.
I have experienced this a few times. I can't see trans temp in degrees on my 99.5 but can on either one of my 2000 model trucks. I think the same goes for TC slip actual and maybe one or two other items as well.
I lie to AE and tell it that my 99.5 truck is a 2000 model year and everything seems to work fine. I can see trans temp and TC slip and whatever other stuff might be missing from the 1999 menu. This leads me to believe it's an AE thing vs a PCM programming issue.
HMMMMM???? Maybe I will also try lying to it and see what it does for my e99.
