Thanks for popen in Diane. I was wondering when I get my stage2's if i can send in the PTM1 to have you throw a tune on it and get rid of the AIH code. Here in CA we have to smog and I don't want to explain why I have this code and that there has never been an AIH heater on the e99. Also when you do the chip I mit have to take it off for smog. God bless,

Chet

Can't delete that code, Sorry.

If you remove the tuner you will need to remove everything else along with it to test. Just let Jody know what you need.

BTW- If you have AE and have that code it won't let you run CCT. I would just keep the XLE PCM and get it flashed with a Low fuel tune.

Diane, can you guys program the PCM's to ignore things like no AIS, bowl heater, or water in fuel sensors?

I really can't answer that. This I do know, many things within the PCM should not be ignored for diagnostic purposes.

Because a Water in Fuel bowl or Bowl heater code is really important.

See my above response. It's not a matter of won't if you know it doesn't work. Tried it, doesn't work AT ALL. It does all sorts of goofy things.

Editing my post to inform everyone:

You do not need to upgrade PCM's to an late 99. It's a waste of your money. Jody has been able to tune the DPC-402 to act the same without having to first fix all of the stock PMT1 tranny issues for over 3 years now.

so youre saying the pmt1 strategy is so horrible that brian at BTS was just being a d!(k when he told me to have my tuner change my chip to that code? either way you look at it if the customer asks for something he should probably get it seeing as its his truck and his chip and he's paying you to put that code on the said chip............

Nope. Brian knows what Jody has always done with his PMT1. It different with aftermarket transmissions. It's only used as a base for other things. Last I know a BTS is not A Stock trans.

A stock 4R100 is worthless, we all know that. But, with GOOD tuning, it can last alot longer and work alot better as well. The PMT1 tuning is NOT good for the stock trans, all BTS does is build a trans that can handle anything. The PMT1 is still bad tuning... just because the trans can handle it doesn't make the tuning right now. It costs Jody the same to burn you the code you want as it is them to put their own tunes on your PCM so it's not like they're making money... the reason Jody has his own tunes is the same reason BTS changes what they do in their transmissions, it's to make it better.

they dont need a spokesman! the only reason i know about pmt1 is because of BTS.....brian did not like the way the truck shifted with the programming i had at the time and told me what to have my "tuner" do for me......point blank the "tuner" refused and wanted me to live tune my truck......see where im going?

Jody has tuned thousands of BTS transmissions since 2004. Has one on his 2002 truck. If you wanted something done that Jody did not feel comfortable doing just over the phone tuning, live tuning is the only thing to do. Prime example: Downshifting! Jody has to remove all downshifting in all BTS transmissions for a reason. Jody will only do it during live tuning and some will not down shift the way Jody likes them to.

Now you are going down a totally different road than what is being discussed.

See ya!!

Jody live tuned my BTS and I have no problems with it. He changed the down shifting so it works well on my truck. I wanted to keep that in my tunes. Brian told me Jody will have no problems tuning my PMT-1 to his trans.

Well I can tell you 90% of the tuners out there prefer PMT over others. I prefer my TC to stay locked when I brake...

PMT for tow tunes and NVK for power tuning.

There is SO MUCH FAIL in this thread. Misinformation abounds!

Yes, that is the first time and the last time you will ever "see" me utter anything dealing with "fail" in an internet forum.

...and some of us wonder why the entire Powerstroke community is confused.

Actually, I gave up on wondering long ago. "I read it on the internet so it MUST be true!"

Carry on.
