Hey guys new to the forum here, i had a little problem so figured i would check with you guys, I was changing out my transmission fluid and filters on my 03 f250 6.0 today and did the filter change where the transmission pan is (no problem) but then when i went to change out the external filter (toilet paper one) i could not remove the case around the filter. I even used a torque wrench and it ended up breaking part of the bottom of the external casing is there a special way to remove this? Thanks

Did u find it necessary to change the pan filter? I did mine and think that was a waste of time.
When you re-install the filter, turn till it bottoms out and then only 4 or 5 psi torque. The O ring does the sealing not the threads. Also lube the O ring. I use vaseline but engine oil will also work.

No when I opened up the pan the filter was still good looking so it didnt seem like it needed to be replaced but since it was already open I did it any way
