...I used my money towards fully bulletproofing my baby...
You think you've bulletproofed it. Time will tell.
I was quoted $1,900 to purchase a dieselcare warranty about a year ago. I passed it up. In November and December alone I spent $3,500 on injectors, FICM, and a glowplug. Do you think I am regretting that decision? Do you think you have bulletproofed those items?
With all the Ford refusing warranty repairs activity in the 6.7 forum, I can only wonder how will they handle warranty repairs with the ESP plan?
BTW... I've been a supporter of the ESP plan when owning a diesel powered truck.
I have had absolutely no problems with Ford on any warranty work. What you read and what the whole story is can be two diff. scenarios. There are those with certain mods or lack of service that still think the manf. should be on the hook.

not exactly a true statement. I myself have done plenty of warranty repairs on 6.7 to date.
I think its more of what people belive should be covered vs what a defect is.
there is more to the issues then you can get from a forum post. Im not syaing it doesnt happen. I have seen it on all diesel engines that I have worked on.

I'm not saying Ford is refusing warranty repairs per say, but some of the 6.7 folks (Like Rick) have taken a beating. Having said that there's always two sides to the story.

Cheezit...can you disclose what type of warranty repairs you are performing on the 6.7's? If you are able to disclose, what seems to be the problem areas and the frequency? Thanks.
seeems like basic minor random stuff. src items, reprograms. a few radiators and water pumps.
had 2 this week. customer was off road and bashed the dpf/src pipe and as a result broke the nipple of the src injector that was customer pay.
the second one was a cab /chasis unit that they incorrectly wired the bed lights at an upfitter done by the customer. that caused a short in the aftermarket harness and burned up the junction block (bcm/sjb) at the right side kick panel. also customer pay

Thats good to hear! I'm really hoping that the SD Trucks with the 6.7 turns out to be a very reliable platform...would maybe like to buy one someday and the other trucks (Chevy, Dodge) are just not an option for me. Thanks for the info!
