Rear Bilstein 5100's upside down
You might want to look again. His label reads right side up. Mine is exactly the same.
Well this little delima made up my mind. I won't be using Bilsteins. German engineering - NOT. To me, if the boot is upside down, it has a greater possibility to retain moisture and rust quicker. Plus if you go through deep water, it's going to get soaked. You do the math.
I'm not trying to upset anyone here at all. This is just my .02 worth from a guy who has been building and 4 wheeling for over 25 years.

5100's are monotube shocks... mounting them shaft-down will not adversly affect them like it would the crappy white body dual tube shocks from everyone else. like someone mentioned you won't have junk sitting on the seal. and it gives you more clearance to the axle if you're using a long body shock. plus it looks better (especially without a boot.. the 80's are over
).
i realize this thread is super old and has been brought back by Zecca but i couldn't believe noone had pointed this out lol.
