my 03 f250's heater is only blowing hot air when i'm on the throttle. has anybody heard of this? i asked the local ford dealership but they couldn't tell me and i don't feel like spending a bunch of money just to have them poke around my truck without knowing what they're doing.
Is it a 6.0? are you losing coolant through the de-gas bottle? Crusty stuff near the cap or possibly oily residue floating on top of coolant inside the bottle? A gallon low. Was the de-gas bottle empty?
I've got a 2011 F350 that has low mileage on it. The problem is a weird one. The heater blows nice warm air as long as the transmission doesn't shift into 5th gear. It will blow warm air in every gear but 5th, has anyone had this problem or heard of it before? It will blow warm air in 6th gear as well, so I'm pretty sure the RPM dropping isn't the problem. It's pretty cold up here in Canada, and I'd like to have the heater working perfectly.
