lol, i think he sold it because his motor blew up somewhere in that 20 miles. i actually square traded it for an edelbrock 600, which was a terrible carb. ill look at the spring kits for the secondaries..if i can just get a little more umph on acceleration ill be happy
well i guess i stated that wrong..its kind of hard to explain things on here. maybe not "umph" but a carb that wont cut out because of my rear end, which i really would like to change as well. but for now i'd rather get a carb (or make mine work for my application).
Adjusting when those secondaries cut in, is going to be the most help. I agree, they are cutting in too soon. Larger carb will more than likely make it even worse.
Make sure they didn't put a small screw in the linkage to pull them open sooner. Lots of people do this thinking it is good. It's not. Without an accelerator pump back there, it leaves a large dead spot.
might need a different squirter? with a high gear truck like yours probably a smaller squirter. if going with mechanical look into 1 to 1 linkage. runs like fuel injection. if any question drop a message. but need to set up jetting a little different. quick fuel vacume secondary are awesome. need to check out their vac sec tech page. just helped a guy with a new quickfuel q-race 850 vac secondary. nice piece. really like 1 to 1 also
