I have a 1982 F-250 with a 302 and when I go to start it, it takes 10pumps in warm weather and 15pumps in cold weather. Most people I know only have to pump it 2 or 3 times, is that something in the carb that makes me have to pump it so many times or is it something else? Thanks

Sounds like your choke is not closing when he eng is cold

The choke was a automatic choke and I changed it to a manual. So if it isnt closing all the way it will take more pumps?

Check accelerator pump in carb. Pump diaphragm could be leaking. Fuel passages in carb body may be clogged.
