Drive train vibration under acceleration
I have a 2003 F-150 4x4 Off Road Model 5.4L automatic transmission.
While driving on the highway and at higher non highway speeds, I get a shudder in the entire truck when I apply the gas.
This does not really feel like an engine misfire because for the most part I can maintain highway speed.
It feels like the truck in hitting bumps despite the road being smooth. It just kind of shudders the whole truck. It will semi go away if I mash the gas.
I don't really feel this running at slower speeds. Engine sounds normal and truck feels normal.
The "service engine soon" light came on and blinked for a while then stayed solid. Took it into a Ford dealer and they supposedly scanned the fault code and told me I had a bad coil on cylinder #5.
They replaced that and sent me on my way for $150.
This did not fix it. Same issue on the way home and I also got the SES/Check Engine light once then it went away.
Any idea's what could be causing this. My battery is weak and needs replacement, could this have anything to do with it?
Thanks in advance
