I have convert to an auto floor shift (B&M truck MegaShifter) in my '77 f150.
I know longer want my auto shift lever on the column nor do I want the hole there if I remove it. I could lathe me a part to fit in the hole but I still think it will look bad being there.
Does anyone have an idea or know of a replacement collar that will work?
I have checked the threads but I dont see anyone addressing this issue.
I just used the parts I needed off the donor trucks steering column when I switched mine over to a 4 speed. Used standard columns should be a dime a dozen in your local junk yards.
I did a search for the collar used on 4 spd columns, no dealer or obsolete supplier has one. You could search the salvage yards for one. (C3DZ-3790-A Extension, steering column tube).
These are zinc castings, not sure but I don't think you can weld it.
What about using fiberglass and resin and fill in the hole?
