Dealer Reprogram PCM?
I just bought an 04 Excursion EB PSD with 127K miles. On top of the radiator there is a sticker that read reprogram PCM "407A-12A650-EME" on 1 July 2005.
what does it mean? My Ex is build on June 04

A flash update was installled on the date recorded. Ford put out quite a few updates in the early years. Some people say they lost a lot of fuel economy w/ the application of these updates. Other than that, they were improvements in the software.

My last update was in Dec. 07 and I didn't lose any mileage. It does have some advantages. It sets a dtc on 05's & up for ect/eot deltas and varies the turbo veins at idle under prolonged idling. It also got rid of my injector buzz flash.
