Alright figure this one out with the stock HPOP I could get a nice cloud of smoke but after I put the adrenaline on I get a little puff and then nothing at all with witch I like. I just wanna why it stopped smoking
Thanks Mike, I'll look for a hydraulic shop tomorrow. Ford would probably want $500 for one, LOL. I'm still curious if I cracked the fitting or what happened.
Mike, that is really strange about the smoke. Do you still have good power? Maybe your turnes took into account a stronger HPOP?
Rodney, I'm in western AZ, Lake Havasu City. The last time I ordered a dipstick O ring from dieselorings.com I ask him to send a hpop kit also. It said on there that the OBS's didn't have O rings in the fittings. This new T500 from Joey I'm sure he put a new O ring on the inside threads that fit into the hpop. Are you saying that there is a O ring that goes inside the female part of the hose that fits onto the male end of the hpop fitting? I hope that made sense.
It made sense to me. No there is not an o-rinng between the male and female sections JIC fittings but there is an O-ring that goes between the male end of the fitting where it goes into the oil rail on the head. If you overtighten the flare section of the fitting it will overtighten the fitting that goes into the head, causing the ring to pop out and heak.
Havasu is a great place, I wish I was still in Az instead of back here in the cold.
On the smoke issue. You are atomizing the fuel better with more pressure. When the stock 17 I had was on there it was a smoky pig. With the t500 a little smoke but much more controllable. I have ad's as well since my sign won't work on mobile. All I did was change pumps. No tuning change.
Where were you in AZ Rodney? I lived in Michigan and Nebraska all my life except for the last three years. If I had to guess I just broke the fitting over tightening it.
I was in the "valley of the sun" just north of phoenix. I left NY in 80 and never thought I'd be back. I've been here almost 4 years now. I never did like the cold weather and now that I'm old I hate it.
Have you been on one of the flat bottom jet boats on the river yet.
No I haven't, sounds like fun. We are not here in the summer though, we're snow birds, LOL.
Mike, sorry about the OT, still want to know if its running stronger then before, just without the smoke? What does your scan gauge say about ICP and DC%?
I kinda skip threw Cody wright but mostly I just went at it. To me the worst part was getting averting out of the way so you could get to the back of the pump
What was cody's write up thread called? I have been saving these write ups so when i get to my mods i will have some thing to go by.
Cody's write up is in Travis's sticky. I quit reading his write up when he started talking about 'feeling' around for the bolt and big washer on the gear. I think he was pulling the pump without pulling off the resorivor. I pull the resorivor off so I can keep an eye on the big washer, hate to drop that thing down the motor!
