'04 Auto 4x4 not working
I had this problem for a while and searched the past posts and all were for earlier or later models and the fix was either wiring to the transfer case motor or the 4x4 control module. On '04 &'05's the control module is built into the PCM so not cheap to try. About the same time as the Auto 4x4 went out and the 4x4 light would flash the ABS light would come on. Luckily my buddy bought a Snap-On Modus scan tool. While driving with the scanner hooked up the wheel sensors all were reading correctly until I turned left and the right front went to zero. Problem. The 4x4 Auto uses these ABS wheel sensors to control power to the front axle. I had changed the right front hub assembly in March. Advance Auto Parts took it back and with the new one installed 4x4 Auto is now working and ABS light is out!!
