HA! Seeing in the door is not required. However, if one had REALLY big hands or forearms it would be very hard to reach the motor through the openings.

Mirrors and lights........and look from the top with the seals removed....... Sometimes it is easier to just remove the crank system....fix it....and install it again.

yeah... I just loaded the mech down with a hinge grease so that kinda helped. The problem was the crank is really hard to roll down and half as hard up. But spraying that grease stuff seemed to help a bit.
