Lisa...aka Smokin was robbed Wednesday in the Denver area...
stolen were several guns that belonged to her father (he passed away last year)...the sentimental value is way more than the guns were worth...
stolen was a S&W .357 model 66, brushed stainless. Cylinder and Slide logo on the side of the frame. Green and orange sights, hogue grips. Serial number 9K74909
winchester x-150 muzzleloader in realtree camo
22 cal remington clip fed, wooden stock with optics
Charles Daly field hunter maxi-mag 12 ga pump in real tree camo
I hope for the best but honestly those are almost as good as gone unless they are so one off they can be recognized from every other gun out there, im sure the serials will be removed if possible...but if you have the serial numbers (or someone does) GET THEM TO THE CONSTABULARY/FEDS that would at least help get any process and change of recovery in motion....
IDK about CO, but a lot of places on the East Coast the cops will keep or destroy the guns when they find them, even if they know who the rightful owner is. In some states even if you report the theft, you can be criminally liable for any crimes committed with the guns. You might wanna talk to a lawyer even though you're the "victim", even in a lot of seemingly "gun friendly" jurisdictions there are some mandatory minimums that are way out of line with the severity of the crime when it comes to guns.
I'd check with a local pawn shop and ask for advice on what all to do. They'll know some places to call or check so you can at least get the numbers out there. You might watch the online gun sales sites and especially any local ones. Also keep an eye on backpage.com It's kind of like craigslist buy gun sales are allowed.
That sucks. Those robber scumbags. I hope ya'll get them back. ditto on keepin an eye on the local pawnshops and i'd be tempted to place an anonymous wanted ad on CL. I'd make it vague, like "wanted: nice used revolver for my wife. Not looking for anything fancy as she is just getting into the shooting hobby..." If they are watching CL it might be one way to find the stolen guns.
