what sort of pressure should the fuel rail show ?

according to the minimax , my 6.4 is running about 5000 psi at idle..........around 10000 psi cruising on a flat highway at 65 to 70 mph .

That's about right. i get more or less the same info from my Dash daq. You'll see much higher #s on acceleration.

5 to 5.1 at idle and somewhere around 8-10 at 65-70 depending. Can pull as much as 25-26K when pulling heavy off the light.

So what does all this mean....well if you are at idle and the pressures are nice and steady then it should be an indication of decent fuel and injectors and the vcv are working properly.

No air in the system.

Same could possible be true just running down the road but you would be hard pressed to keep it steady enough.

So a large swing while driving maybe an indication that something is up.

That is what I think..does not make it right though

what numbers are you seeing prior to starting. I'm dead in the water, was seeing the same numbers. Now no start, prime the pump up to 10 times and see 25-30 but no start.

Know I got a bad load of fuel at an Indian casino and have been having intermittent problems.

NOT good to hear this. Are you still under warranty? Are there any codes stored? How did you know it was bad fuel?
