Not totally familiar with body lifts (in terms of what needs to lengthened with how many inches of lift), but you could be looking at steering and trans linkages. Possibly your rad hoses as well. Some of the more experienced lifters out there will chime in

Just ditch the body lift and go with a suspension lift, save yourself the ridicule.

Now, this is coming from a 92-96 series owner, but when I put my 3" body lift into my truck I had to install the supplied steering shaft extension that came along with the kit, and I trimmed the bottom of the fan shroud so the fan wouldn't hit it.

the 3" I put on (2) 78-79's just blocks, bolts, dropped the radiator , the brake lines and wires moved far enough, as well as the filler neck
the stick truck got a tube welded to lengthen the clutch rod , readjust the carb linkage, auto same thing with the selector rod, one of them had a tilt steering wheel and would bind if tilted so I swapped that out for a standard one,

There's enough adjustment in the linkage to not have to weld anything in. (I did one on my '79) On a column shift automatic, you'll need to weld in 3" to shift linkage.

Move the radiator down on the rad support and move the bumper brackets up.

Contrary to popular belief, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a body lift. Most of the arguments people make about them, can be applied to suspension lifts as well. The key is to make all modifications in a SAFE manner and don't take any short cuts.

I've flipped people in my passenger seat completely upside down (their head was on the floor and feet kicking my back window) in my trucks that had body lifts. I never had anything break. Again, if you do it right, there won't be any issues.

My dads old 79 had a 4" susp. lift and 2" body lift and if I remember right he didn't have to modify anything other than move the bumpers and such for the body lift. I myself want a 2" body lift for my truck also.
