Dash and taillight woes

Dash and taillight woes
About a week ago my tail lights and my dashboard light went out on my 2000 Ranger and I'm not sure what caused it. At first I thought that the two were unrelated but I went through and checked all of my tail light connections and the fuse and it all is fine. Is it possible that the light switch needs replaced? I would imagine that they would be related since they both went out at the same time but im not sure. I still have turn signals and brake lights in the rear but I dont have running lights. Got any advice? Thanks in advance.

the fuse just to the right of the two for the rear lights. The manual labels it number 7. I havent checked that one yet. But I would assume that if it was blown the problem would be unrelated because that fuse has nothing to do with the rear lights right?
