PostRelease suggestion

Ford has been using PostRelease frequently here. Here is the contact page for Ford Motor Company.

Scroll down thru the email links to advertising and let them know what you think. Maybe if enough ford fans complain it will get thru to them.

Tim,

What is it exactly? I found Post Release web site and it seems to be just like all of the other crappy ads on FTE. I haven't noticed anything different except for the bogus post ads that started showing up a month or so ago.

PostRelease is the "host" that invades a discussion forum like this and plants ads that appear as 'stickies' at the top of the forum threads. It's a parasite that rotates thru a website like fte bouncing from forum to forum at random as near as I can tell.

Companies like Ford and Nitto Tire pay PostRelease big bucks to have their ads inserted into the forum threads like a bunch of pirates. Makes me see red, and our mods and admins here don't like it but can't seem to do anything about it.

I figured if we go after the companies that are advertised maybe the word will get around that it's a crappy thing to do and turns people off instead of upping revenue.

Pi $$ ing in the ocean? probably, but I'm tired of jerks that find loopholes and take advantage of others. The email I sent to Ford made me feel better.

This is the email I rec'd from Ford today - appears someone at least looked. Now if they have to answer to a couple dozen of us it just might help..........

I'm right there with you, pi$$ing away into the abyss. I have just sent the Ford advertising department an email about using the PostRelease BS.

I tactfully told them I was ashamed of them and that I expected better from Ford.

We'll see what comes of it
Bobby
